The Breeders’ Cup World Championships is one of the most prestigious and anticipated events in the world of equestrian sport. Horse races are held every year in November in the USA and bring together the best horses in the world. The Breeders’ Cup is organized by Breeders’ Cup Limited.
Breeders Cup 2025
The world’s premier horse racing event, the 2025 Breeders’ Cup, will take place on October 31 and November 1 at the picturesque Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in California. The two-day show will once again bring together the world’s best racehorses, jockeys, and trainers under one roof.
When and where will the race be held?
Dates: October 31 and November 1, 2025
Venue: Del Mar, California, USA — one of the most prestigious and spectacular racetracks in North America.
Del Mar has hosted the Breeders’ Cup in the past, and each time it was a spectacular spectacle — with an ocean breeze, crowds of fans, and heart-stopping stakes.
Who’s running?
The races will feature elite racehorses from around the world — from the US and UK to Japan and Australia. The final lists of participants are announced closer to October, but bookmakers are already looking at such contenders as:
City of Troy – a horse that is tipped to be the main stars of 2025
Fierceness – a champion with outstanding sprint potential
As well as stars from Japan and France, who are strengthening the international team.
Who is the favorite?
Bets are still being formed, but it is already possible to say: City of Troy, under the saddle of a top jockey and in the hands of experienced trainer Aidan O’Brien, will be on a special account. However, the history of the Breeders’ Cup knows many sensations – here, outsiders often become triumphant.
When was the first Breeders’ Cup?
The first Breeders’ Cup race was held in 1984 at Hollywood Park Racecourse in Inglewood, California, USA.
