About the Bangladesh Premier League

The Bangladesh Premier Cricket League (BPL) is an annual season of top-level professional cricket league in Bangladesh, organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board International. It is one of the most watched premier leagues in the world.

The Comilla Victorians professional men’s cricket team is the reigning champion of the tournament.

2025-26 Bangladesh Premier League

According to preliminary information, the 12th season of BPL is scheduled to run from December 2025 to February 2026. The exact dates will be announced later, so it is recommended to follow the updates on the official website of the tournament.​

Tournament participants

The following teams are expected to participate in the 2025/2026 season:​

• Fortune Barishal
• Chattogram Challengers
• Comilla Victorians
• Durdanto Dhaka
• Rangpur Riders
• Sylhet Strikers
• Khulna Tigers

Note: The composition of the teams may change depending on the results of the previous season and the decisions of the organizers.​

Tournament favorites

It is difficult to determine the favorites in advance, however, based on previous seasons, several teams can be distinguished:​

• Fortune Barishal: The current champions, who have demonstrated stable play and a strong lineup.​
• Chattogram Challengers: A team with a rich history and experienced players, always aiming for high positions.​
• Rangpur Riders: Known for their aggressive tactics and the presence of star players in the squad.​

Match Venues

Traditionally, BPL matches are held at the following stadiums:​

• Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka
• Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong
• Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet

The final list of stadiums will be confirmed closer to the start of the tournament.

History of BPL 

The first such cricket event took place in 2012 and was held at the Sher-e-Bangla and ZAC stadiums. BPL-2020 was the only season that had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the tournament was held only in January and February 2022.

The Comilla Victorians team is the most successful one, having won the league title for the third time.
