2026 AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup
The 2026 Asian U-20 Girls’ Soccer Cup will take place from April 1 to 18 in Thailand. This is the 12th edition of the tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). For the first time, 12 teams will compete in the final tournament. The winners and finalists will earn spots at the 2026 U-20 World Cup in Poland.
Participants and favorites
Thailand automatically qualifies as the host. Eleven teams qualify through matches in August 2025. Thirty-three teams compete in eight groups. Group winners and three best runners-up advance to finals.
History of the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup
The AFC U-20 Women’s Championship started in April 2002. Japan and Chinese Taipei qualified for the World Cup. The tournament was created to unite the best women’s teams in Asia-Oceania. It crowns the champion among players under 19. Japan leads with 6 titles, more than any other team.
