About the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup

2024 AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup
Qualification for the Women’s Asian Cup took place in 2023. A draw was held in December 2023 to determine the teams who would play each other. They are: Uzbekistan and Japan (basket 1), DPRK and Korea Republic (basket 2), Australia and PRC (basket 3), Vietnam and Chinese Taipei (basket 4). The top four teams at the end of the tournament will advance to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
History of the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup
The AFC U-20 Women’s Championship was held for the first time in April 2002. Teams from Japan and Chinese Taipei qualified for the World Cup. The tournament itself was created to bring together the best women’s football teams in the Asia-Oceania region and crown a champion among players under the age of 19. Team Japan is second to none in terms of victories, with 6 wins to their name.
