FIDE Women’s Chess World Cup — a prestigious international chess tournament for women, organized under the auspices of FIDE and hosted by one of the strongest chess federations in the world. It is one of the most significant events on the chess calendar, granting qualification to the Candidates Tournament final.

Format: An over-the-board knockout tournament, including classical games and tiebreaks, similar to the 2025 format — 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes to finish, with a 30-second increment per move.

Participants and Favorites
Entries will be accepted based on rating, regional championships, and previous championship stages, including Candidates Tournament finals. The player list is expected to bring together the world’s strongest female chess players — champions and prize-winners of previous championships and World Cups.
Tournament History
The Women’s World Cup in knockout format was first held in 2021 in Sochi, where Alexandra Kosteniuk emerged victorious. Meanwhile, the second edition took place in 2023 in Baku, with Aleksandra Goryachkina claiming the title. The runners-up were Nurgyul Salimova and Anna Muzychuk.
