The Supercopa de España Femenina (Spanish Women’s Super Cup) is an annual Spanish football mini-tournament that involves the champion and vice-champion teams of Spain, as well as the finalists of the Copa de la Reina/Queen’s Cup (third place teams in the championship may qualify for the tournament).

A similar men’s football event is called the Spanish Super Cup (Supercopa de España).

2026 Supercopa de España Femenina

The 2026 Women’s Spanish Football Super Cup will be held from January 16 to 20. The tournament will once again be held at the Butarque stadium in Leganés (Madrid). This is the third year in a row that the arena will host the final stage.

The Super Cup is held in the “final four” format. It will involve:

  • the winner and finalist of the 2024/2025 Queen’s Cup,
  • as well as the two best teams of League F, if they have not yet qualified through the cup.

The matches will be held according to the following schedule:

  • January 16 and 17 — semi-finals (kick-off at 19:00),
  • January 20 — final (kick-off at 20:00 local time).

All games will be broadcast on the Spanish TV channel Teledeporte.

The names of the participants will be announced after the end of the current season. The tournament opens the football year in Spain and is considered one of the key events in women’s club football in the country.

History of the tournament

The first Spanish Women’s Super Cup took place in 1997. At that time, the tournament was played between two teams and consisted of two matches – a home and an away match. The mini-tournament consisted of the champion and the winner of the Copa del Rey. This format of the tournament lasted until 2000.

From 2019, the tournament began to exist in a new format, which is relevant today.
