About the Qatar Grand Prix
The Qatar Grand Prix is one of the rounds of the Formula One World Championship, which takes place at the Losail International Circuit. For the first time this stage of motor racing was held on 21 November 2021. It is known that the agreement to hold this stage is signed for the next 10 years. It should be noted that the Grand Prix of Qаtar is the fourth race, which takes place at night.
Qatar Grand Prix 2025
The event will take place from 28 to 30 November 2025 on the modern Lusail International Circuit, located near the capital of Qatar, Doha.
The race will take place in the evening, under artificial lighting, which has already become a signature feature of the Middle East stages. This not only creates a spectacular visual show, but also helps to avoid the extreme heat during the day.
The Lusail circuit is known for its high speeds, long start-finish straight and technically challenging second sector, which makes it a real test for drivers and engineers.
Who are the participants?
The 2025 Qatar Grand Prix will feature all 10 Formula 1 teams, including:
- Red Bull Racing (Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez)
- Mercedes (Lewis Hamilton, George Russell)
- Ferrari (Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz)
- McLaren (Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri)
- As well as Aston Martin, Alpine, Williams, Kick Sauber, Haas and RB.
Each team is looking to adapt their car as much as possible to the smooth and fast track surface in Qatar, where aerodynamic stability and engine power are important.
Who are the favourites?
Max Verstappen (Red Bull)
The undisputed leader in recent seasons. His confidence on high-speed tracks makes him a prime candidate for victory.
Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)
Hamilton is always good at night racing. If Mercedes can provide consistency in race pace, Lewis could be in the running for the podium.
Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc
Young, ambitious and constantly improving drivers. If McLaren and Ferrari can provide competitive cars, they won’t miss their chance.
History of Formula One motor racing in Qatar
The Qatar round was not originally scheduled to be held in the 2021 Formula One season. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Australian stage was cancelled and then it was the Qataris agreed to prepare the circuit for the Grand Prix in the shortest possible time. The first winner of the stage in Qatar was Lewis Hamilton, the second and third places were taken by Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso.

In addition to the spectacle of the race itself, visitors had access to a variety of entertainment such as a museum of the history of Formula 1, a graffiti wall dedicated to the race, which was painted in front of fans, as well as a fantastic light show.
Last year the stage in Qatar was cancelled due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
According to preliminary information, the next rounds in Qаtar will be held on another circuit, which is planned to be built specifically for this race.
