FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in 2025

The 2025 Men’s Volleyball World Championship is one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year! The tournament will be held from September 12 to October 5, 2025 and will bring together the best teams from all over the world.

Participating teams

The championship will feature 32 of the strongest teams, including current champions, past winners and teams that have qualified. The favorites include Poland, Brazil, Italy and the USA.

History of the Championships

 The history of volleyball world championships started in Prague in 1949. The Soviet national team won the tournament. At that time volleyball was in no way inferior to football. The first World Championships featured a team from Moscow, Leningrad and Kiev.

1. Volleyball was originally known by another name – mintonette;
2. USA is the country where volleyball was invented;
3. Once in Asia, the rules called for 9-12 players per team instead of 6.
