The first UFC event was held in Denver in 1993. It was originally intended to be a one-off competition to determine the most effective martial art. However, the success of the first competition determined the future of the UFC. As time went on, the rules of the tournament were changed, and eventually the competition became more of a sport than a spectacular event.
Today, the fights are broadcast in 20 languages in more than 130 countries.
The UFC has always attracted the attention of not only fans, but also bettors. One of the biggest bets was a $1,000,000 bet on Khabib Nurmagomedov to win against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. The bet brought the lucky player $1,600,000 and became a symbol of confidence in Khabib’s dominance.
