2026 UCI World Tour
The 2026 UCI road cycling calendar was announced in the fall of 2025.
The 2026 road cycling season will begin with the Tour of Australia on January 20 and conclude with the Tour of Guangxi from October 13-18.
Eighteen WorldTeams will participate in the tournament.
The 2026 UCI Road Cycling World Championships will be held in Montreal, Canada, from September 20-27.
History of the tournament
The history of the UCI World Tour begins in 2005, when the International Cycling Union (UCI) introduced a new competition system – UCI ProTour. This format united the most important one-day and multi-day races, creating a single calendar for the leading teams. However, due to disagreements with the organizers of the grand tours (Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, Vuelta a España), the system encountered problems, and in 2009 it was replaced by the UCI World Ranking.
In 2011, the UCI launched the world tour, which became a logical continuation of the previous systems. It united the best races of the season, including three grand tours, monumental classics and prestigious multi-day competitions.
