Next Generation 2025

The 2025 Next Gen ATP Finals will be even bigger. Most promising players under 20 will meet on the courts of Jeddah to fight for the title and show their skills. The tournament will be held in December 2025 at the King Abdullah Sports Complex in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Organizers promise to keep the intrigue until the last match, and spectators can expect exciting games and spectacular rallies. The prize fund of the tournament is more than $2 million.

In addition, the tournament format will retain its key features: short sets, timeouts for coaches, the ability for players to communicate with the coach via headphones, and so on. As a result, tennis will be more dynamic and closer to modern audiences.

Next Generation Tournament History

The Next Gen ATP Finals has come to symbolize a new approach to professional tennis. Since its inception in 2017, the tournament has served as a springboard for young players, paving the way for success on the main stage.

In 2017-2023, the tournament was traditionally held in Milan, Italy. Athletes could not be older than 21 years. Starting in 2023, the competition moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where it will be held until 2027. Also, the age of players is now 20.

Innovation is one of the key features of Next Gen. The electronic Hawk-Eye Live calling system, a 25-second pitch counter and shortened breaks between games have all been tested here. Many of these innovations will be incorporated into other competitions.
