In this international competition, the Copa Libertadores winner faces the Copa Sudamericana champion to contest the South American football supercup. In 2026, Recopa Sudamericana will once again be held in a two-leg format, featuring the Copa Libertadores 2025winner and the Copa Sudamericana 2025 champion. This is a traditional South American supercup derby between the champions of continental tournaments.
Exact dates and venues for the matches have not yet been officially announced — CONMEBOL will reveal the details closer to the start of the tournament. Finals are usually held in February, with matches played home and away.
