PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025 / Where and When

In 2025, the PUBG Mobile World Cup will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Besides, it will be part of the global Esports World Cup festival. In addition, the tournament will run from July 25 to August 3. Moreover, 24 teams from around the world will participate, including representatives from Europe, Asia, Middle East, and Americas. Lastly, the prize pool for the competition totals $3,000,000.

Tournament Schedule:

  • Group Stage (July 25–27): 24 teams are divided into 3 groups of 8, playing a total of 18 matches each.  
  • Survival Stage (July 29–30): 16 teams compete for the remaining 8 spots in the finals.  
  • Grand Finals (August 1–3): Final battle among the top 16 teams.

Participants and Favorites

The tournament features 24 teams from around the world: Asia, Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, and the CIS. 

The main favorites include:

ThunderTalk Gaming: They demonstrate a consistently high level of play.

Tianba (China) and LGD Gaming: Secured second and third places, respectively, in the overall rankings.

However, surprises could come from rookie teams that have already excelled in regional competitions.

Tournament History 

The PUBG Mobile World Cup, formerly the PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI), first took place in 2021. It was organized as an online charity event by Gamers Without Borders. Consisting of two regional divisions (East and West), it had a prize pool of $3,000,000.

In 2022 and 2023, the tournament shifted to an offline format. It was held in Saudi Arabia as part of the Gamers8 festival. Following the announcement in 2024 that Gamers8 would transition into the Esports World Cup (EWC), the event was renamed the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC).

PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026

Currently, there is no concrete information about the tournament in 2026. It is expected that the PUBG Mobile World Cup will return as one of the Esports World Cup events in summer 2026. However, specific details are yet to be announced.
