Next Generation 2024

In 2024, the Next Gen ATP Finals will be held on a larger scale. The courts in Jeddah will host the most promising players under the age of 20 to compete for the title and showcase their skills. The tournament will take place from December 18-22 at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. While the organizers promise to keep the intrigue going until the very last match, spectators can expect exciting matches and impressive draws. The tournament has a prize pool of over $2 million.

In addition, the tournament format will retain its key features: short sets, timeouts for coaches, the ability for players to communicate with the coach via headphones, and so on. As a result, tennis will be more dynamic and closer to modern audiences.

Next Generation Tournament History

The Next Gen ATP Finals has come to symbolize a new approach to professional tennis. Since its inception in 2017, the tournament has served as a springboard for young players, paving the way for success on the main stage.

In 2017-2023, the tournament was traditionally held in Milan, Italy. Athletes could not be older than 21 years. Starting in 2023, the competition moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where it will be held until 2027. Also, the age of players is now 20.

Innovation is one of the key features of Next Gen. The electronic Hawk-Eye Live calling system, a 25-second pitch counter and shortened breaks between games have all been tested here. Many of these innovations will be incorporated into other competitions.

New talent, an exciting format and global interest in the sport make this tournament an essential part of the tennis calendar.
