The ICC Women’s ODI World Cup is the premier women’s cricket tournament in the One-Day Internationals (ODI) format. It is organized under the auspices of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Moreover, the tournament attracts millions of fans worldwide. Additionally, it is held every four years and represents the pinnacle of women’s ODI cricket.
ICC Women’s ODI World Cup in the current season: date and participants
The qualifying tournament that will determine the last two participating teams for the 2025 Women’s ODI WC will be held from April 9 to 19, 2025 in Lahore, Pakistan. Six women’s national teams will compete in the event, vying for a place in the main tournament of the year.
The qualification matches will be played at the Gaddafi Stadiums and the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Arena. At the end of the tournament, the top two teams will qualify for the final round of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. India will host the tournament in October and November this year.
Tournament History
The first Women’s Cricket World Cup was held in 1973, two years prior to the men’s version. Consequently, it became a breakthrough in the history of women’s sport. Furthermore, the tournament has only strengthened its position with each season, gaining fans all over the world. Over the years, the trophy has been lifted by such national teams as Australia, England and New Zealand.

- The highest team score in the tournament is 412/3, set by the South African national team in 2027.

ICC Women’s World Cup next season: what is known?
At the moment, all eyes are on the preparations for the final leg of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. India will host the ICC Women’s World Cup in the fall of 2025 – in October and November. This will be a special tournament as India will be hosting the competition after a long hiatus. Therefore, India is preparing a large-scale organization and support for women’s sports.
