About the Men’s Volleyball Nations League
The FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League is an international volleyball tournament held among national men’s volleyball teams every year since 2017. The tournament is managed by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). Sixteen men’s teams take part in the competition. There is a similar sporting event for women and it is called the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League.

2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League
The seventh edition of the VNL men’s tournament will be held from June 11 to August 3, 2025. The finals will be held in China, at the Beilong Gymnasium in Ningbo, highlighting the growing importance of the Asian region in world volleyball.
New participants and returns:
- China returns to the tournament after a successful performance in the 2024 Challenger Cup.
- Ukraine will debut in the VNL as the highest-ranked team among the non-core participants.
Expected participants:
A total of 18 teams will participate in the tournament, including:
- Brazil
- Poland
- France
- Italy
- USA
- and other teams from four confederations.
The main favorites of the VNL 2025:
- Poland is one of the leaders of the world ranking with a strong attacking line.
- France are Olympic champions with an experienced and well-coordinated team.
- Japan is a fast and technical team that regularly surprises its opponents.
- Italy are the current European champions with a strong youth team.
- USA is a team with a deep bench and experience winning VNL finals.
History of the Men’s Volleyball Nations League
The creation of a new volleyball tournament was announced by the International Volleyball Federation in 2017. The Men’s Volleyball Nations League came to replace the Men’s World League.
Team Russia won the first and second seasons of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League.
