About the Championship
The Club Volleyball World Championship is an annual tournament that brings together the best club teams from around the world. Organized under the auspices of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the tournament is one of the most prestigious events in the world of volleyball. Strictly selected teams compete for the right to be called the best in their sport.
The competition attracts the attention of millions of spectators due to the high intensity of the matches, the participation of star players and the intense battle for the title.
2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship
The 2025 Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship will once again bring together the strongest teams from all over the world. This is an annual competition under the auspices of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), in which eight clubs participate – winners and prize-winners of continental tournaments, as well as the host team. The tournament is held in the format of a group stage and a playoff, where the four best teams play for medals.
At the moment, the exact dates and venue of the championship have not yet been announced, but, as a rule, the tournament takes place in December. In 2024, the matches were hosted by Brazil, and it is possible that the tournament will be held in South America again.
The main contenders for victory are the Brazilian club Sada Cruzeiro, which is the current champion, as well as the Italian giants – Trentino Itas and Lube Civitanova. Strong Asian teams from Iran and Qatar, which are confidently declaring themselves on the international arena, should not be discounted either. The tournament promises to be intense and the level of play to be as high as possible.
History of the championship
The World Club Championship was founded in 1989. Italy was the first country to host the event. Since then, it has become one of the most important events in the volleyball calendar. In the beginning, the tournament was held irregularly. However, since 2009 it has become an annual event.
The main idea is to give clubs from different continents the opportunity to compete for the world title, which is usually played between national teams. An important feature of the tournament is the participation of both the strongest European teams and the best representatives of South America and Asia. Thus, a unique atmosphere of global competition is created.

2026 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship
Currently, the date of the next championship is unknown. However, the 2026 tournament is already arousing a great deal of interest among the fans of this sport. The organizers are planning to make it even bigger. The club championship will be a great opportunity for young stars to prove themselves on the international stage.
