The Basketball Asia Cup (FIBA Asia Cup) is the premier continental basketball tournament for national teams in Asia. First held in 1960, it has since evolved into a highlight of the Asian basketball calendar. The event takes place every four years under the auspices of FIBA Asia, the Asian division of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

2025 FIBA Asia Cup
The 2025 Basketball Asia Cup will take place from August 5th to 17th, 2025, hosted by Iran with Tehran serving as the main organizing city. Sixteen top national teams from Asia and Oceania will compete. Divided into four groups of four teams each. The games will be held at the Azadi Indoor Stadium, the largest arena in the capital.
In addition, the tournament winner will claim the title of Asian Champion and secure qualification for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, if necessary.

Teams advancing to the final round of the 2025 Basketball Asia Cup will emerge from regional qualifying rounds. Meanwhile, the definitive participant list will be confirmed in spring 2025.

Tournament History
The first edition of the Basketball Asia Cup took place in Manila, Philippines, in 1960. Initially held biennially, it was originally called the Asian Basketball Championship and later renamed the FIBA Asia Cup. China holds the record for the most titles, with 16 victories. Throughout its history, the tournament has been hosted in various countries, including the Philippines, Japan, Iran, Qatar, Lebanon, and others.
