2027 CONCACAF Gold Cup

The 2027 tournament still has no confirmed dates or host venue. It will likely run in the summer across the United States and Canada. Both countries offer strong sports infrastructure and huge football audiences. Sixteen national teams are expected to compete. Top sides include Mexico, the USA, Canada, and Costa Rica. Teams from the Caribbean and Central America join through qualification. Prize money usually ranges from $2 to $5 million, depending on results. The champion claims both the cash reward and a spot in major competitions like the Confederations Cup.

Competition History

Founded in 1991, the tournament became the successor to the CONCACAF Championship. It has been held regularly since then and grows in popularity every year.

• Mexico is the most decorated competitor, having won the tournament 11 times.
• In 2000, Team Canada sensationally beat the favorites to win the tournament for the first time.
• Some of the draws involved teams from South America, including Brazil and Colombia.
