A new platform, VK Ads, was launched in April 2022, almost a year ago. During that time, analysts have found that there’s a more active audience coming from ads on the new VK Ads service: subscribers take more targeted actions, share content more frequently, and leave a greater number of reactions to posts.

As VK Ads are more effective at promotion, the old VKontakte advertising accounts will soon be closed:
- until 1 July 2023, you can recharge your balance;
- active ad campaigns will run until 31 July 2023.
At the same time, new advertising tools are appearing and evolving in VK Ads. For example, in April 2023, mini-application promotion is now available through the VK advertising account. According to experts, VK Ads algorithms using ML model increases the number of clicks from the ads by 56% and reduces their cost by 27%.
How to promote VK Mini Apps?
VK Mini Apps can be used to promote entertainment services and shopping apps in Vkontakte feed. The app can be created on the basis of VK Mini Apps or in any designer.
- In the VK Ads account, click “Create Campaign”, then select “VK Mini Apps” and add a link to your app.
- Choose target action: “open Mini Apps” (the ads will be broadcast to new users, who might be interested in the service offered) or “action in Mini Apps” (motivate audience to take necessary action). Set up ad group targeting: different settings will allow you to show ads to different audiences.
- Use the “budget optimization” feature: in this case, the system automatically reallocates the budget to the most effective ad groups. You may also find the “minimum price” betting strategy useful: algorithms will provide maximum targeted actions within a set budget.
- Create your ad: fill in the text fields or use the text generator, upload your creatives (image and/or video), choose the text for your button.
- Press “Publish”. After moderation the broadcast of the ad will start automatically.
More tools will soon be available in VK Advertising:
- community targeting and dynamic retargeting;
- use of square formats of creatives in community ads and mini-applications;
- transferring segments from the VKontakte account and linking segments by reactions.
