About the Premier League
The Premier League (The Football Association Premier League Limited) is a professional football league for clubs from England and some clubs from Wales. The championship runs from August to May, with 20 clubs competing. Each team plays 38 matches.

2022/2023 Premier League
The 31st season of the Football Association Premier League Limited started on 5 August 2022 and will end on 28 May 2023. From 13 November to 26 December 2022 there will be a break in the Premier League. This is due to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
History of the Premier League
The tournament was founded in 1992 and is called the Football Association Premier League Limited.
There were 22 teams in the first season of the 1992-93 Premier League. The first goal in the history of the tournament was scored by Brian Deane from Sheffield United. Nevertheless, it was Manchester United that claimed the first league title.
In 1995, the number of clubs in the Premier League was reduced to 20.
In 2007, the official name of the Football Association Premier League Limited was reduced to the Premier League.
Since 2016, the Premier League has had no official sponsor.
