EuroLeague Basketball

The EuroLeague is an annual competition of European professional men’s basketball clubs. Turkish Airlines is the sponsor of the EuroLeague tournament. The sponsorship contract with the airline has been extended until 2025. The EuroLeague is considered by many to be the pinnacle of European club basketball, where the best teams compete for the title of champion. Moreover, this tournament brings together not only the professionalism and skill of the players. It also attracts the passion and emotion of all European fans.

2023-24 EuroLeague

The 24th edition of EuroLeague Basketball will start with the regular season on October 5, 2023 and end on April 12. Playoffs take place from April 23 through May. There are 18 teams participating in the tournament. A total of 309 games will be played.

In addition, a play-in phase was introduced this season, in which the 7th to 10th-placed teams compete for the opportunity to participate in the playoffs.

Now it is known that the long-awaited Final Four games will be played in Kaunas and Berlin on May 25-26.

Competition History

Basketball as a sport began to develop rapidly in the early 20th century. Then European teams began to actively participate in international competitions. They demonstrated their skills and their desire to compete with the best.

The first steps towards the creation of the Euroleague were taken in the mid-1950s. There was a need to unite the best clubs in Europe to hold an annual tournament at a high level. As a result, the European Basketball Club Competition, later known as the EuroLeague, was created in 1958.

From its very first season, the EuroLeague captured the hearts of fans. It offered them exciting games and emotional duels on the floor. Every year the league grew in popularity, attracting new participants and expanding the tournament’s geography.

Today Basketball EuroLeague is one of the most prestigious and respected basketball tournaments in the world, where the best clubs and players gather to fight for the championship title. Every season brings new emotions, records and legendary moments that leave their mark in the history of basketball.
