World Women’s Curling Championship
The World Women’s Curling Championship is an international annual tournament for the national women’s curling teams, organized under the aegis of the World Curling Federation (WCF).
2023 World Women’s Curling Championship
It is known that the 2023 World Women’s Curling tournament will be held in Sandviken, Sweden from 18 to 26 March. Göransson Arena has a capacity of 10,000 spectators. It is Sweden’s fourth women’s curling world event in Swedish history. Sweden hosted the first World Championships in 1985 in Jönköping.
History of the World Women’s Curling Championship
The first World Women’s Curling Championship was held in 1979. 11 teams took part in the first women’s curling tournament. Switzerland won the championship with a score of 13:5, facing Sweden in the final.
Since 2006, the number of participating teams has risen to 12, from 2018 to 13 and from 2021 to 14.
Each World Championship has featured teams from the USA, Canada, Scotland, Sweden and Switzerland.
Canada has hosted the World Women’s Curling tournament 16 times.

2024 World Women’s Curling Championship
According to preliminary information the 2024 World Women’s Curling Championship will take place from 16 to 24 March. Canada has expressed its interest in hosting the tournament. More precise information about the venue will be announced later.
