About the UK Championship

The UK Snooker Championship is one of the most prestigious snooker tournaments in the world. It is held annually in late November/early December and is part of the World Snooker Tour (WST).

The biggest contributor to the UK Snooker Championship has been Ronnie O’Sullivan. He is a seven-time champion of the tournament and holds the record for the most wins in this tournament.

UK Snooker Championship 2025

One of the most prestigious tournaments in the world of snooker, the UK Snooker Championship 2025, will once again bring together the best players on the planet. The tournament is part of the so-called “Triple Crown” along with the Masters and the World Championship, and traditionally arouses great interest among both fans and bookmakers.

When and where will it take place?

The UK Championship 2025 will be held from November 29 to December 7 in York, England, at the familiar Barbican Centre arena. This has been the permanent venue for the tournament since 2011, and the atmosphere here is always truly unique – intimate, but tense until the last ball.

The matches of the tournament will be broadcast live on leading sports TV channels, and are also available online on the official World Snooker platforms.

History of the championship

The UK Snooker Championship is one of the oldest snooker tournaments in the world. It dates back to 1977 and immediately became one of the most prestigious tournaments on the calendar. In 1990 the championship moved to the city of Sheffield, where it is still held today.

The first UK Championship was held in 1977 in the city of Manchester, England. The tournament was won by Patsy Fagan, beating Douglas Mountjoy 12-9 in the final.

2026 UK Snooker Championship
