About the European Games
The European Games (Europiad) are regional international sports competitions for athletes in Europe, which are scheduled to take place every four years under the direction of the European Olympic Committees (EOC).
Currently, only the Summer Europiad are held, but it is expected that the Winter Europiad will also be included in the calendar of major sporting events.

2027 European Games
The 2027 European Games will be held in Istanbul, Turkey. This landmark event will be a major milestone in the development of the city’s and the region’s sports infrastructure. The games are expected to attract spectators and athletes from across the continent, with the best of Europe participating. Istanbul, with its rich history and modern sports facilities, will be an excellent arena for competitions in a variety of disciplines. These games will also be an important step towards promoting sports and strengthening unity among European nations.
There is little information about this sporting event at the moment. However, the following sports are expected to be represented:

- Beach handball;
- Beach soccer;
- Boxing;
- Breakdancing;
- Canoe Slalom;
- Cycling;
- Fencing;
- Judo;

- Paddle tennis;
- Ski Jumping;
- Table Tennis;
- Taekwondo;
- Triathlon.
History of the European Games
The first Europiad were held in 2015 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The games were attended by 5,730 athletes from 50 European countries and 253 sets of medals were awarded. Athletes competed in 30 sports.
