Snapchat 2023: new advertising opportunities

In May 2023, Snap unveiled new solutions for advertisers that will facilitate access to Snapchat’s unique audience as well as engagement with content creators.

Snapchat advertising tools: 2023 updates

  • US company Snap was founded in 2011. It owns the messenger Snapchat for sharing messages, videos and photos.  At the end of 2022, Snapchat suddenly appeared among the leaders of the most downloaded applications in Russia and Belarus.

First Story is a new promotional tool that allows ads to be shown immediately after a video. To do so, you need to reserve the first spot in the Snap Ad video slot between your friends’ stories (Friend Stories). According to Snap in the US, Friend Stories has a daily reach of more than 50 million people.
Spotlight* ads are launched for all advertisers. Customers can manage ads through Snapchat Ads Manager, with service representatives checking and moderating all content.
Spotlight is the equivalent of the TikTok service, launched in 2020. In 2023, 350 million people became active Spotlight users, which is 170% more than a year earlier.

Snapchat’s My AI chatbot also offers new opportunities for promotion. Artificial intelligence fits seamlessly into the product, improving its quality.   The AI will help provide users with more relevant content in Snapchatter Stories or Spotlight, as well as make recommendations when creating creatives.
As well, during a conversation with the bot, artificial intelligence will suggest relevant links to products, services to users.
Access to the My AI smart bot was opened in April 2023. The new tool can recommend AR filters, generate images and suggest the right locations.
