Two new ad types in Yandex.Direct

Now, users can place video ads and advertise on digital billboards in Yandex.Direct. Advertising on digital billboards is sold with payment per thousand OTS (opportunities to see).

Video ads in Yandex.Direct open up many new opportunities for advertisers. Ads can be placed in Yandex Video Network with a monthly audience of 37 million visitors.

Advertisers can choose formats of their video ads; moreover, they can adjust frequency of media banner displays and run additional performance ads, thus increasing the chance of a repeated contact with their audience. Advertisers can also access targetings by user profile that are similar to media banners: by sociodemographic characteristics, marital status, profession, presence of children, interests, data from Yandex.Metrica and Yandex.Audience.

Sitebox, a new website builder by Mail.ru Group

Mail.ru Group has announced the launch of Sitebox, a new website builder. There, users can create an online store, a business card website, a product or company page, and a classic landing page. Sitebox allows managing website structure and its content. Users can connect free analytics and SEO tools and also get a SSL certificate. Moreover, Sitebox supports the following payment systems and methods: Qiwi, Robokassa, Sberbank, Yandex.Kassa, Paypal.

Firefox with adBlock that works automatically

  • Firefox will be blocking autoplay content by default. Users need to press a play button to watch content that is blocked.
  • To disable blocking on a specific website to watch TV series, for instance, press a play button once. All subsequent episodes will run automatically. This rule works for online streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube.
  • Websites can also be added to the whitelist with allowed autoplay. Other new features in Firefox are scroll anchoring (stops content jumping around as images and ads load), tab search, private browsing, etc.
