The betting market in Russia is not just recovering, it is growing rapidly. After the well-known brands left the industry in the spring of 2022, new ones with interesting products and offers have emerged. The activities of the Unified Gambling Regulator (ERAI) have become stable: new agreements are being signed, and the bookmakers’ earmarked contributions are being used to support sports. For instance, an agreement with the Federation of Sports Fishing was signed in mid-September. New laws, for example on advertising labeling, should make the market more transparent and clearer.

A new bookmaker has entered the betting market in Russia. According to the Unified Betting Accounting Centre, bookmaker GoldenBet has received documents to attract a Russian audience.
The website of the betting company itself, which operates under the domain golden-bet.bet, states that the legal entity of the office is LLC GoldenBet, with a license from the Federal Tax Service to carry out betting activities obtained on 4 July 2018. The bookmaker bet365.ru, which left the Russian market in March 2022, previously operated under this license.

Intrigue around the re-launch at the poolbet website!
As of 1 September, the rules for advertising of sweepstakes have changed in Russia: it is now possible to promote them on websites and to use images of horses and jockeys.
Against this background, news has emerged that Poolbet, once the first and so far, the only legal totalizator in Russia, will resume operation from 1 October. It suspended its operation in May 2021.
The website states that the company is currently at the stage of “obtaining permits”. It should be recalled that a sports betting office and sweepstakes operation in Russia require different licenses.
The main focus of the BC POOLBET, as stated on the website, will be horse racing, “but the line includes an action line of other sports such as football and eSports.
However, questions immediately arose! Initially, Poolbet operated under the legal entity of LLC Pyatigorsk Hippodrome and under license number 3 from June 26, 2009. Currently, the BC’s website lacks any information about the documents.
According to Sergey Pobochiy, CEO of the Russian Association of Equestrian Sports Totalizators, LLC Pyatigorsk Hippodrome now has nothing to do with the relaunch while the poolbet.ru domain has come under the control of third parties.
Astrabet is coming back!
And more good news! In October 2022, the Astrabet betting company’s website and app will resume operations. The company plans to finish the technical work, which started on 31 August.
Representatives of the operator announced that not only all the faults will be fixed, but also the development of a brand new product will be presented. At the same time, experts of BC separately clarified that they have taken control of the security of their customers’ personal data.
