Within a few weeks, Twitter will introduce a standalone app for testing its new features.
What will be new in Twitter’s beta app?
- A new system to sort tweets. Replies will be shown not as equal tweets but as branches of the conversation.
- Indented and color-coded replies. The color will depend on who has written the reply: the original poster of the tweet, the person you follow, or the person you don’t follow.
- A ranked order of replies. Replies from your friends will be moved to the top.
- A new look of “like”, “retweet”, and other engagement buttons. The icons won’t disappear completely but will be seen only if you tap on a specific post.
A couple thousand people will access the beta test.
