New Facebook Features for Bigger Profits

New Facebook Features for Bigger Profits - 3snet

Publication date: 12 December 2018

Facebook has announced three new features at once that will help to make ads more profitable.

Ads in search results

Facebook is testing search results as an additional placement option that will apply to both primary search results and Marketplace. This option is available only for carousel and static images. The ads themselves are clearly labeled with the Sponsored tag and include the “Why Am I Seeing This” drop-down menu.
Search is one of a few placements that have remained untapped. For now, only select advertisers from the U.S. and Canada are participating in the test.

Inspiration section

Facebook added a new Inspiration section to its Facebook for Business portal with best-in-class ad examples selected by Facebook Creative Shop, a team of creative directors and brand marketers who offer ideas for business development. The materials within the Inspiration section will help to create high-quality ads that can be placed on Facebook and other platforms.

In the Featured, you will find examples of top-performing ads of various formats from Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Audience Network. The Leaderboard lists video ads that have the highest return on investment and engagement rates and feature creative best practices.

You can also access the following tools:

  • Creative Hub,
  • Ads Guide,
  • Facebook IQ,
  • Mobile Studio.

For now, the Inspiration section includes only the ad examples that are in English.

Live stream shopping

The new feature will allow users to sell products during live streams. When a seller shows products on a live stream, viewers can snap pics of the items they are interested in and send messages directly to the seller.

This feature is designed to make the process of selling/buying much simpler. The test phase is now underway.

Earlier, Facebook became stricter on adult content. Now users cannot add any adult content, including erotic dances, nude images, or posts with sexual innuendos. New restrictions are listed in the updated community policy.
