Instagram fights against bullying, Odnoklassniki updates mobile app

Instagram starts fighting against bullying

Instagram is rolling out new anti-bullying features. One of the features is powered by artificial intelligence that notifies people when their comment may be considered offensive before it is posted. In the example given by Instagram, “ugly” and “stupid” are recognized by AI as offensive words. Instagram, however, has not specified what type of content AI reacts to.

Instagram is also planning to introduce another anti-bullying feature called Restrict. Once a user Restricts someone, comments from that person become visible only to that person. Restricted people will not be able to see when the user is active on Instagram or when (s)he has read their direct messages.

Odnoklassniki mobile app update

In the updated version of the mobile app, orange, which is Odnoklassniki’s brand color, was replaced with white.

Throughout 2018, Odnoklassniki was developing a design concept that would be simple and modern at the same time. Improvements have been rolled out to Video and Gifts tabs in the desktop version, while the mobile app for iOS has been completely updated this year. The new color of the application will help users to concentrate more on content.

According to statistics, the majority of OK users on iOS are tech-savvy open-minded people aged 25 to 34. The social network must remain up-to-date to hold their attention.

Links can now be added to comments on Yandex.Aura

Yandex.Aura team continues improving functionality and adding new features.

Now users are able to add links to comments and copy links to posts and comments—important features that Aura used to lack.

Moreover, users no longer need to choose a community when posting content. AI will target the audience, but manual selection of communities still remains available. New users get a little support from the ranking algorithm: their first posts are marked with a special call to support the new author.

Users now receive notifications of new comments, and when one of the comments under a post is read, the other comments are not automatically marked as read in the notifications. It helps users to understand which comments have been looked through and which have not.

Recall that under the Aura rules, it is strictly prohibited to post any advertising information. The social network was created solely for communication between people. The ability to add any links to comments still makes some kind of advertising possible, at least of your own posts or third-party resources.
