A test advertising post appeared in the telegram channel, which is labeled Sponsored. Such posts will appear only in public chats, the owners of which will join the program. There will be no ads in ordinary user chat conversations.

Telegram 8.0 will also include new functions:

• Forwarding a message without the sender’s name: the sender’s name can now be hidden in a forwarded message.
• Ability to record voice chats: not only the soundtrack of voice chats can be recorded, but also the accompanying video.
• Message animation using a gradient palette. Instead of an emoji or sticker; you can quickly select a GIF image with a similar value. The process of selecting a sticker by the interlocutor is displayed on the status bar.

According to Sensor Tower, Telegram was one of 15 apps worldwide with more than 1 billion installations. Other services on the list include WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Spotify and Netflix. Installations of most Google apps pre-installed on Android devices are not tracked.
