How 3SNET Selects Conferences: GEO, Budget, and ROI
Our journey into offline conferences began with local events — our first stop was MAC, suggested by partners.
The budget was minimal, but the results were invaluable — strong connections that lasted till today.
Soon came the scaling: overseas exhibitions and booth presentations.
Today, we strategically approach conference selection. Here’s what guides our decision-making:
- GEOs and Priorities. If we’re focusing on traffic growth in a specific region (like LATAM or Asia), we attend local events.
- Scale. We consider the number of exhibitors, speakers, and attendees. The higher the density of our target audience, the better the ROI.
- Organization. Reputation matters — a professional team ensures a quality program and new connections.
- Trial Visits. For new events, we prefer attending in-person before committing to a booth. Exceptions exist: if a conference gains buzz and is widely discussed, like G GATE CONF, we might opt for a booth straightaway. Catching such events at the right moment is crucial.
- Budget and Terms. Even costly conferences can justify their expense if they bring new partnerships.
- Feedback. We weigh personal experience, chat discussions, and word-of-mouth recommendations. These insights are more authentic than any review on the organizer’s website.
Preparation for an iGaming Conference: Logistics, Visas, and Deadlines
If you need a visa and plan to exhibit – prepare early. Two to three months in advance, booth space is often fully booked. At premium events, rebooking happens right after the current one ends. Miss the window – and you’re left with poor locations or sky-high costs.
Choosing a Booth Location
- Near Entrance or Reception: High foot traffic and visibility. Perfect for branding and first contacts.
- By Coffee Zone, Bar, or Food Court: People linger and are relaxed – easier to start conversations.
- At Crossroads or Corners: Traffic from multiple directions – increases visibility.
- On the Way to Main Stages: People pass by repeatedly, enabling second interactions.
(Next to bathrooms? Debatable. The traffic is high, but the motivation isn’t great.)
Smart move: get a small but bold booth near major players – especially those offering coffee, cocktails, or giveaways. Those zones attract traffic – and the right people.
What to Bring to a Conference: Booth, Merch, or Business Cards?
If you’re scouting a new event – confidence, eye-catching merch, and a QR code to your Telegram are enough. In the CIS region, business cards are becoming obsolete.
Want attention? You’ll need a branded setup, banners, giveaways, and a team.
Don’t forget a local SIM card with a solid internet plan – conference Wi-Fi is often overloaded or missing, and roaming may fail you.
At 3SNET, we’ve tried everything: branded booths, photo zones, and just wearing the merch. Sometimes energy and engagement work better than expensive setups.
No budget? No problem. A bright hoodie, reliable internet, confidence, and initiative can get you quality leads – even without a booth.

Geography, Risks, and Safety
Food, jet lag, and climate — important, but manageable. We work in any conditions.
Food can surprise — from grilled ostrich to day-one food poisoning. It’s worst right after arrival, when you’re needed at the booth. If it hits later — tough, but the job’s mostly done.
Would We Go to… Israel? North Korea?
Geography isn’t a barrier. Israel has seaside events with strong audiences. We’ve been — and recommend. North Korea? Theoretically, maybe. Practically — not likely. But if the GEO is promising and safe — we’d consider it.
Safety First
We check chats, reviews, and local news beforehand. Sometimes danger’s not at the event, but outside your hotel. In Cape Town, for example, guards stopped us from walking across the street for candy — and called a taxi to a mall 15 minutes away “for safety.” We won’t forget that.
Event Organizers and Reviews
No TripAdvisor for conferences — only trusted word-of-mouth. We ask partners: “Who went? Was it worth it?” It tells us everything we need to know.
Red flags show early. If the site’s outdated or ugly, or the team can’t explain booth logistics — we likely won’t go. If they’re not responsive to simple questions — it’s a bad sign.
Unconventional Moments
iGaming events are about more than leads — sometimes, they’re surreal:
- At one afterparty, someone jumped off a boat into a river — just because they could.
- Once, a DJ and go-go dancers held a show… in the men’s bathroom. Why not the women’s? Still a mystery.
Understanding Conference Attendees: Chats, Partners, Communities
Participant composition is key. You can assess it through Telegram chats, partner groups, or just asking directly. A simple “Will you be there?” often reveals a lot. If top players confirm – it’s a strong signal to attend.
When major affiliates, advertisers, or networks show up – it’s worth your time. You get real-life networking and partnership talks.
Another big plus – offline visibility. If organizers invest in city ads (airport banners, hotel screens, registration posters) – it shows they care about traffic and exposure.
Bonus points when ads appear near other events. G GATE and CPA Life Fest do this well – they catch attention even before their own events begin. That’s serious strategy.
Side Events in iGaming: More Than Just Afterparties
Side events are becoming a major part of iGaming conferences. Think meetups, quiz nights, parties, or even padel tournaments and city tours. Unlike massive raves, side events let you connect more personally and make real contacts.
At MAC 2025 in Yerevan, for example, there were around 17 events – quizzes, meetups, and hidden-location parties. The most talked-about? Waves by G GATE Media, TikTok Meetup, and the cozy ABC Connect. People loved the format – easier conversations, better networking.
CIS teams are pioneering these events. Even global shows like SiGMA and AWA follow their lead — often powered by the Russian-speaking community.
If genuine dialogue matters to you – side events are gold. Follow our calendar – we post the best ones early.
Where to Find Side Events
The action’s in Telegram chats and closed groups run by organizers. That’s where the first announcements land.
Sometimes there are even “secret parties” only insiders know about.
Facebook groups* can also have useful announcements – especially internationally.
