- A survey conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center showed that only 19% of Russians play video games.
- Almost half of the respondents (48%) have never played games on PC.
- A third of the respondents (33%) stopped spending time on virtual entertainment.
Video games are most often played by inhabitants of million-plus cities (25%), while the majority of rural population (59%) has never played them.
Respondents from Moscow and Saint Petersburg as well as rural areas spend the least amount of time on digital entertainment.
How much are people ready to pay for video games?
Most of the respondents (79%) do not spend any money on video games (purchase of games, purchase of gaming accessories, etc.). Those respondents who make purchases spend on average 959 rubles a month. The expenditures reach 1056 rubles in Moscow and Saint Petersburg and 1550 rules in cities with from 100,000 to 500,000 inhabitants.

48% of gamers prefer playing games on mobile phones, 41% play on PC.
Half of the respondents (46%) play several times a week, 30% do it several times a month, or less. They spend on average 5 hours playing video games.
This type of entertainment is most popular among young audience aged 18-24 (40%) and people aged 25-34 (25%).
The most favorite games of Russian players are World of Tanks (11%), Patience (7%), and Pirate treasures (4%).
