Online special project “Results of gambling in Ukraine 2021” has been launched, which presents video interviews of experts with the results of the gambling market in 2021 and the prospects of the gambling industry in 2022.
The year 2021 was a challenging but successful one for the gambling industry in Ukraine. In the middle of 2020 gambling business was legalized in the country, and casino organizers and representatives of betting shops (including online ones) had to learn how to work under the new rules. Boris Baum, First Deputy Chairman of KRAIL, described the results of the first year of legal gambling market: the main advantages of the existence of legal gambling business, including the merger of 80% of companies in the market into a single association – the Ukrainian Gambling Council (UGC). Also, the expert highlighted the main gaps in regulation, described the situation with illegal operators and expressed his opinion about foreign companies entering the Ukrainian market.
The head of the Ukrainian Gambling Council UGC Anton Kuchukhidze in his interview explained the main obstacles for foreign companies to obtain a Ukrainian gambling license and shared his vision for the legalization of gambling business.
